Gifts - Soaps

Mystic Water Soap offers a wide variety of beautiful handmade soaps for face and body — truly affordable luxury.

A brief introduction - My name is Michelle. In addition to running Mystic Water Soap from my home, I work at Smile Herb Shop in College Park, Maryland. I make soap from scratch by the traditional cold-process method using olive oil, vegetable oils, shea nut and cocoa butters. I incorporate milk, honey, essential oils and botanicals to make a true soap that retains all its natural glycerin and cleanses your skin gently. My soap is long-lasting, made from original recipes that I have perfected over the years.

I take care and pride in my soap making. A great deal of creativity goes into every bar, but whether swirled, marbled or layered, scented or unscented, one thing is certain: your skin will never feel as soft and refreshed as after you have used a bar of Mystic Water soap.

Musicians

BanjerDan (Dan Mazer) is a solo acoustic performer based in Hyattsville, MD, playing styles "from bluegrass and beyond" on banjo, guitar, mandolin and dobro. BanjerDan will play Sunday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Acoustic traditional and original blues; always a Thursday Market favorite! Sunday, 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Award-winning guitarist/songwriter/composer writes songs, solo guitar pieces and band compositions that reflect the intersection of Indian music, folk fingerpicking & country blues, classic jazz, post-punk rock and heartfelt singer-songwriter styles. He plays electric and classical guitars, 19-string Indian slide guitar, combining things in an organic, soulful way that brings the best each has to offer. It is this artistry and openness that led to Dave Cipriani being selected for the 2006 Individual Artist Award in Solo Instrumental Performance from the Maryland State Arts Council and the 2006 Individual Artist Award from the Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts.

Dave will play Saturday, 4:00pm to 5:00pm
With a rich tenor voice and a mastery of the guitar, dobro, mandolin, and dulcimer, David LaFleur has been performing his unique mixture of folk, blues, and bluegrass for over 20 years.

A former nuclear engineer turned full-time musician, LaFleur has received honors in eight national songwriting contests, has performed at the Kennedy Center, and has three times been a featured performer at the Mountain Stage NewSong Festival. In 2006 he won first prize in the Australian based Pacific Songwriting Competition. He will be touring the UK in 2007.

His debut CD, "Flowers of Love and Delusion," has aired on college and public radio stations across the United States. His new CD "Blue Ridge" has just been released to critical acclaim. David LaFleur presently lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia.

David will play Saturday, 7:00pm to 8:00pm
The son of a hobby-guitarist, Doug diverted from a path in the visual arts when he was asked to join a rock band in high-school and subsequently found himself bitten by the music bug. Since that time, he's traveled a road from solo acoustic artist through numerous electric bands of various stripes and back again having performed along the way at some of the East Coast's most notable venues as well as countless small cafes and listening rooms. Give a listen - you won't be disappointed.

Doug has appeared as percussionist with Lea, Suzanne Brindamour, Cletus & Lori, Teporah, Lori Grigsby & Sandy Moyer.

Her sound is velvet harmony, plaintive and lilting — as close as a whisper, and just as compelling. She is a poet without paper, wrapping her sweetly confessional lyrics in this gorgeous voice that slides through the speakers and invites the listener in. — Chris Slattery, Gazette Newspaper
